BOXING.

lUBTRALIAN AND N’.Z. CABLE ASSOCIAT/ON*. BOXING COUNCIL. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 24. A mooting of the Now Zealand Boxing Council was held this evening, Mr A. R. Kirk presiding. A protest was received from the Otago Boxing Association, against the action of Wellington, Hawke’s Bay and Napier Associations’ representatives in withdrawing the competitors selected to represent these Associations at the Do minion championships. Otago Association gave particulars of the championship committee’s persistent but vain endeavours to persuade Wellington. Hawke’s Bay and Napier representatives to permit their Associations’ men, who were in Dunedin to compete. Tt was resolved that Wellington, Hawke’s Bay and Napier Associations be requested to explain the action of their representatives in withdrawing those Associations’ competitors at the Dominion championships. A reply by October 17th. was requested. It was resolved that the Kecietnrv of the Napier Association be requested to apologise to the Otago Association and io the Council for bis telegrams of August Bth., August 9th.. respectively. It was resolved that Mr R. W. McVilly, Patron of the New Zealand Boxing Council, he asked for an explanation of bis telegram to the Council Secretary on August 10. prescribing a certain course of action with regard to the conduct of the recent Now Zealand championships.
