Regarding. the train service between Greymouth and T 1 olciti 1-ca. Mr Schmiit (of flic Christchurch office of ilie Government Industries Department) said that it was reported at Thursday night’s meeting of the Executive Council that a conference had been held with the Traffic .Manager at Greymouth at which the subject was fully discussed. .Mr .Schmitt suggested that a motor train should he run between the two towns during the Exhibition period and this suggestion is likely to be taken up by the Exhibition Committees in Hokitika and Greyniouth. Tt is understood that a decided improvement will he made in the present service between the town towns. Motor proprietors expect to he in a position to run special char-a-banc trips at reduced fares between the two places. Consequently, in tbe event of the accommodation for visitors at Hokitika proving inadequate, the position will be relieved by the accommodation available at Greyniouth and by the special provisions for transport between the two towns. As to the likelihood of exhibits from Australia being received, Air Schmitt said that the Exhibition authorities have received enquiries regarding space from the Australian Manufacturers' Association, hut to date no space has been actually hooked.
