WOMAN'S VENDETTA
LONDON. Aug. 1. A broken friendship and its result led to Miss Mabel Young (otherwise Edith Mabel Bassett) being fined os at Windsor yesterday for assaulting Arthur William Thompson, a motor-omni-bus inspector. Thompson said that after the friendship ended -Miss Young followed hint about and smacked his face, and when his sister was married the party had to leave the church by the hack door to avoid a scene. “I have spent my savings and pawned my jewellery to fight this man.” | Miss Young exclaimed. -She said she j would go to prison rather than pay the i fine, but someone in court paid it for • her. | A cross-summons for assault against, Thompson was dismissed.
