FOREIGN CURRENCY TAKEN

Acting under instructions from the Commissioner, the Police raided the big cafes and seized foreign currencies belonging to two customers, who were able to proved heir right to hold them. The raids were carried out under the ' personal supervision of the Commissioner of Foreign Currency, assisted by a large force of uniformed police, who guarded all exits while plain clothes men proceeded to search cvoiybodi s Poe iiTespeotive of nationality. The waiters provided rich booty. Ihe foreigners were informed that tlieii money would be icturned if they were able to prove that they arc entitled to it.
