Says the West Coast correspondent of t‘'c Christchurch “Press”:—The introduction of a little of the hustle in evidence in the Railway Service in other parts of the Dominion, to the West Coast Section of the New Zealand Hallways would not be amiss. Tiio service between Crevmouth and Hokitika is wretched and can scarcely suffice for the requirements of those desirous.of using this method of travel during the Hokitika Exhibition. The mixed train which leaves Orcymontli at 8 a.m. is typical. It arrives at Hokitika at any time up to 10.30, although it is due at 9.50 a.m. Today (Friday) it reached the southern town at 10.25. After leaving punctually at 8 a.m. for a distance of 24 miles, 115 minutes was thus required —a rate of 10 miles per hour, which surelv is hard to heat anywhere.
