The Golf Clubs who are conducting the championship meeting this month has refused to adopt the Xew Zealand Council's method of drawing for places. The committee telegraphed staling that it strongly resented the Council’s action and contended that every competitor should have equal treatment. The Council hold a special meeting and decided to adhere to the system and directed' the Club to act accordingly. In a covering letter they objected to the tone anil the -wording of the Club's objection and pointed out that the Council had full control and if it was to he exposed to such behaviour it might have to consider taking the matter out of the Club's hands. The Council further stated that the method of the draw was designed to give the really good competitors a proper chance. Yielding to the Club for for financial reasons the number of entries had been extended hut it was well known that a number of these wore poor players and they were not going to be allowed to jeopardise the chances of good men. especially professionals.
