[ny TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WESTLAND V. DULLER. WESTPORT, Sept. 8. The representative match, Buller v. Westland, was played here this afternoon on Victoria Square in drenching weather. The field was in good order, hut slippery with the rain. The Buller forwards played with more combination and clash than the visiting pack. At half time. with' the wind and rain behind them, they had scored 9 points (penalty goal by G. Stuart and an unconverted try by the same player) to nil. On turning over for the second spell, the Westland team made a better impression for a time, and they looked like being troublesome to the locals, but they failed to use the wind lo advantage. and wore somewhat slow in following up. Buller came away with good rushes, and these were only arrested by the backs. Buller added five points (a try scored by B. Stuart, and converted by Davis), making the final score: Duller 11 ; Westland nil. For Buller, Tuiitiiclieff, Stuart T«ns, McLean, nan! O'Neill (forwards) were always prominent, Tunnieliffc especially playing a. dashing, beady game. The Buller hacks all played safely. Davis at full back being particularly sound in his work. Of the West Coast players, Hngnv Devaney, Bannister and Durham (forwards), and Wogan, Duneraft, Palmer and Ross (backs) wore most noticeable. The Wesilanders missed some easy shots at goal from free kicks. Mr H. Casey was referee.

BRISBANE, September 9. Tho Chinese Soccer team played Queensland before 15,000 spectators. The game was drawn, the score being 2-2. The visitors, who were leading one to nil at half-time, had the better of the exchanges, until the last 20 minutes, when Queensland made a wonderful rally and equalised the score. The Chinese outshone the home team in trickiness and combination.

LEAGUE GAME. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 8. The inter-provincial League football match, Canterbury v. West Coast reps, took place to-day. Canterbury by 12 points to 10. Sanders and Watt scored tries for Canterbury, both being converted ,alul Rowe potted a goal. Cost and A. McElwee scored tries for the Coast, one being converted, and Purnell kicked a penalty goal.
