In connection with the Saros-Induna shipping collision on tho 14th August, the Court has suspended the certificate of tho master of tho Saros for three months. AN IGNO.MINIOUS END. SYDNEY, Sept. 5. The wooden ship “Bumsido,” built by the Commonwealth Government in war time, at a cost of £35,000, lias had an ignominious end. After the vessel was stripped by lier purchaser, he offered to give the hull away. No one was willing to take it, so it was then sawn into huge sections, piled on the harbour front and burned. The fire lighted up the entire city.
N.S.YV. HOUSING SCHEME. SYDNEY, Sept. 5 The annual report of tho Housing Board of Now South IVales has been tabled in the Assembly. It shows a not contingent loss of £4,865 upon the operations, but it is expected this will be more than covered by the salo of unused allotments. The report bases its opinion, that ultimate success will he eventually achieved, ou tlie probability of a fall in tlie rate of interest during the next ten to fifteen years.
