WOMEN CANDIDATES WIN. LONDON, Aug. 31 A feature of the election is the success of the women candidates. Apart from the election of Countess Alarkieriez, Mrs Collins-O’Driseoll, a sister of the late Michael Collins, has been elected as a pro-Treaty member. Dr Kathleen Kynn, -Mrs Cathal Rrughal (the widow of the Republican Leader, who was killed in Sackville Street fighting) and'Miss Alary AfcSwinc.v have been elected ns nnli-Treacy-v Captain William Redmond, son of the late John Redmond, has been elected for Waterford City as an Independent. Labour, Republican, and Farmer candidates have been elected for the other Waterford County seats. RED CROSS RERUFF. GENEVA. Aug. 31. An Irish Republican delegation was rebuffed when it attended a meeting of the International Red Cross with the object of exposing the treatment to which the political prisoners have been subjected in the Free State internment camps. sAI. Gustovatloi (president) refused a hearing to the members of the delegation, on the grounds that a Red Cross mission has already investigated the fact.
