WESTLAND BRANT IL At a recent meeting of the Westland Branch of the above A.-sociatiou it was asked by sonic oi' its member' what uere the advantages of becoming a member thereof. The Set ictary rend a draft of their advantage as follows: The Objects and Advantages of such an Association a- the Canterbury Automobile are : 1. —To generally protect and encourage automobilism. 2. --To cultivate reciprocal relations with ikiirdred .institutions at home and abroad, (affiliated with R.A.A. of Biiiaiu.) To afford members information end advice connected with the automobile movement. I. To protect Its members in •:’so of u.oogl'u! prosecution. 5. Hotel i oneessioiis throughout t'te South island. 6. —Ro.u! directions and signs have boon elected all over Canterbury. Westland and Grey. 7. Vat i.hi— donations have been made fi r bri Icing .■streams in Canterbury and Wc,-st land'. There is no doubt that the pressure of a body more than 2000 strong has eonsiodrably hurried up the completion of such works as the Little Wanganui, AA’aitangi and Tatare bridges on the main South road, also numerous ntlverts and .-mall bridges on ihe Hokitika-Otira Road. 8. —.V watchful eye is kept on all matters concerning motor legislation. H Petrol can he procured from the Association by members, .it favourable rates, any profit teiliainitig with the Association. 10.—Road maps for inspection , tul on sale.
