Twenty-two entries were divided into three divisions. Elliott Davies won two of them with Son of Mine and Best Boy. Ihe third was won by Dr Martin’s Day Regard. COUNCILLOR'S SUDDEN DEATH. DUNEDIN, Aug. 28. There was a tragic occurrence at the tin eting of the Cluthit County Council io-i lay ai. Balclutha. Cr. George Rnun, representative of Clydevale Riding, suddenly collapsed in his chair nt the council table and died within five minutes, of heart failure. STAMP FRAUDS.
