There "as only a moderate attendance at the performance of the Australian Comedy Company at the Bi'ineess Theatre last evening. In the Magistrate’s Court. Grey - moutli, yesterday morning. William •lames llaigh was charged with hating attempted to commit suicide, by cutting his throat with a razor. Evidence was given to show that llaigh, who had worked at Otira for some time, became broken in health, and went to live with a step-brother, at Ilotokohii. ..e became despondent, and attempted suicide. He pleaded guilty, and was convicted by Magistrate Meldrum, and ordered to pay costs amounting to i’3 IDs.
