The Waiiarapa and Wellington representative hockey teams met at varterum to-day in line weather on a di'y ground, W'airarapa speedily attacked. but skilful work by Wellington backs sent them back. They came again and front a melee in the circle, W. Banin shot tnc first goal. Play continued even till just on the call of half lime when O'Brien (Wellington) shot wide at the goal. I'he ball struck Hawken’s (Wairnrapa) pads and bouncing off entered the net. I’be score iiL half-time was one-all. The
second spell entirely favoured Wellington. who proved .superior in all departments of the game and showed far belter combination. Jn two minutes. W. flood shot a goal and was speedily followed by Whittaker and the pair went on and again netted a goal. Wairarapa rallied several times bur lacked form and combination.
