WELLINGTON. Aug. 20. There was discussion at the Automobile Union meeting on a letter received suggesting that the Union should (■ointniinieate with the Government, asking that the passage be secured this session of the Motor Vehicles Bill with the limitations agreed to at the Wellington Conference. There "'as a F'psibilitv of the Bill 1 icing shelved, said the chairman. Tt was resolved to circularise till members of Parliament. CYCLING. NEW YORK. Aug. 19. Willie Spencer, a naturalsied American. won the American bicycle cliampioiishin for the second successive year, after competing in the last of a I'l'rK's 1 ' l ' rK ' s of 18 races. Arthur Spencer was second; Cecil Walker (Australia) third; Orlando (Italy) fourth. Allied Gtenda (Tasmanian) was ninth.
