INDUSTRIALISTS TO VISIT COAST

CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 16

The Exhibition delegation had a most favourable reception and the gieatest interest continues to he evinced in ihe project and well sustained support will be forthcoming from Canterbury ill both exhibits and patronage.

During the day various firms, etc., were seen and the prospectus distributed. *

Mr II on re. Secretary of the Industrial Association will act as the local representative and will receive space applications. Last, evening about SO members of the Industrial Association were addressed. regarding the movement, by. Messrs Wild, Wilson. Berliam and Evans, who all spoke on behalf of the Exhibition Council, while Mr M . R. Kettle (Chairman of the Gieymouth Chamber of Commerce) supported. Mr H. J. Mnrriner delivered an interesting address on the A\ est. - oast rail wav system and urged Canterbury industrialists to support the. Exhibition.

Messrs Jenkins and W oodroffc similarly supported the movement. It is likely that a party of Christchurch industrialists will visit the Coast shortlv on a trading mission.

Mr L. .f. Schmitt. Government Officer m Charge of Industries, visits the Const in a fortnight's time and will stay at Hokitika a couple of days to look into accommodation matters on behalf of the Government Departments which will he exhibiting at ihe Exhibition, considerable space being required most likely for this purpose. A very interesting Pacific exhibii is being prepared by the External Affairs Department and some interesting models will also ho shown.

Canterbury, as a whole and Christchurch in particular, will dispatch a large number ol visitors to the Exhibition which is being looked torward to with great interest.
