Mr B. M. 'Wilson, manager of the Tourist Department, who was severely injured in the motor accident on the Hutt road three weeks ago, has recovered sufficiently to leave the Wellington Hospital for his homo at Lower Hutt. He has regained strength enough to walk alxiut a little during the hour or so a day he is allowed to lx? out of bed, and the wound in his thigh is healing quite satisfactorily. It will, however, be some weeks before he is able to Ik* out and about- again.

At the Chamber of Commerce meeting on Tuesday last it was resolved to telegraph the Prime Minister supporting the deputation to him last Thursday relative to the modification of the timber industry regulations. On Saturday Rt. lion. W. F. Massey replied:—“Vour telegram of Bth. August duty received regarding timber industry requlations. Representations placed before Government by deputation referred to arc receiving earnest consideration.”
