Whilst Sir Oeorge Fuller, in the \ssemblv, was declaiming against tho exaggerated reports regarding the unemployment, a big gathering of workless men outside held a noisy demonstration. under police control. Sir (■'. Fuller received a deputation from the crowd which demanded employment. stating that there were eleven thousand workless in the city. The Premier, in a sympathetic reply, promised immediate consideration and incidentally mentioned that the shipping trade was handieipped by heavy port charges, hut he was hopeful that things in that direction would shortly improve,
