THURSDAY, AUGUST 2nd. (Before Wm Meldrum. Esq., S-M.) A REMANDED CASE. 1). McCaski 11 (Air Sellers) came up on remand. The report was satisfactory of conduct since the hist- adjournment and a conviction was recorded without penalty. LICENSING ACT. The police charged 11. Cleaver (Mr .Murdoch) with supplying liquor during prohibited hours, acting as barman at Occidental Hotel. Defendant pleaded guilty and after an explanation by Counsel, a fine of 5s with costs 7s was imposed. The police charged two residents with being on licensed premises (Dunedin Hotel) during prohibited hours. .Mr Murdoch tor defendants, explained the circumstances, and one charge was withdrawn. In the other charge a conviction and fine of 40s and costs 7s was recorded. A first offender (Marquis of Lome Hotel) pleaded guilty and was convicted and ordered to pay costs 7s. A charge against another resident was withdrawn after an explanation by Mr Murdoch. Counsel for defendant. A resident: (Occidental Hotel) similarly charged was ordered to pay costs DEFENC E ACT. J. A. Kit Id mid S. 11. Breeze were tharged with failure to attend parade, were convicted, the former being lined 10s and costs 7s. ami the latter 5s and costs 7s. AFFILIATION CASES. 4'wo applieat ions for affiliation orders were adjourned owing to the plaintiffs in each case being tillable to appear. CIVIL CASES. T. M. Mcßride (Mr Murdoch) v. !i. C. Doyle. Judgment for balance of account £1 14s with costs Us. MARSHALL V. BAIRD. j lis Worship intimated that tallowing the judgment of Justice Adams in tlm appeal ease, he would give a written judgment on the ltitn.
