Crown, ami Ennis combined nicely to hrinn Taranaki another try, which also was not; converted. Soon after. Hell received from Otifihton. and scored Southland's only fry, which was not converted.

Again the question of test match charges was before the New Zealand Rugby Union to-night. ’I he .Otago Rilgbv Union (following on their published protest- that the New Zealand Union's charge for the test matenes. on their own showing, was too high) wrote pointing out that the expenses of the lour would not exceed L'boOO. v.hi.e at a charge of Is lb the ground, with extra to the stand, the receipts ior the U matches should be CBot>o at least. The Otago committee, therefore, was ol opinion that Is was a sufficient charge lor admission to the ground for the Now South Wales matches. 4he (lingo Union pointed out also that it had gone to considerable expense in the erection of up-to-date grandstand accommodation at C'nrisbrnok. which meant extra revenue for the New Zealand 1 nion. The New Zealand Union could not se- its wav to reduce its charges for the ground. The matter was discussed in committee. Finally it was lolt in the hands of the enairman. Mr S. S. Dean, and Mr E. Little. Efforts are to be made to secure a rodm lion in the amusement tax on the sport. Various recommendations were received from the unions, and are under consideration.
