Accused, a taxi-driver, was motoring down Upper Queen Street at seven in the evening, when ho ran into deceased, who died in the hospital next -day. The evidence for the prosecution was to the effect that the car was travelling at from 25 to 30 miles an hour. No evidence was called for the defence. Counsel for the defence submuted the accused was not driving at an excessive speed, but was doing everything -an ordinary cautious motorist would do to avoid a collision. He submitted that the accident was due to an intensely bright light from a cabaret dazzling the driver. The Jury added a- recommendation to mercy. Sentence was deferred till Aloud y.
