LATE LOCALS.
A huge waterspout was seen oil Km tw i on Thursday by residents in that locality, states a Wanganui correspondent. Two columns were noticed 1., 00:11,' down from the clouds and con--11.. with the sea. One column, tile larger of the two. went further out to ,e-_ fint the other came inshore and Worked its way up the Kai Iwi stream drawing up large quantities of sand as it moved along inland. It was a wonderful sight, the two columns standing cut fioltllv and distinctly- 1 liei appeared to separate just as a thunderstorm started.
