AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. C.VBLE ASSOCIATION. IMPERIAL AIRSHIP POLICY. LONDON, July 27. Mr Hoare, in the House, announced i Government’s Imperial airship policy. He said that, as a result of reports of the Imperial Defence and Imperial Shipping Committees, it had been decided to resume the development of airships, and to proceed, if possible, with the idea of a commercial service, rather than State operations.

The Government accepts the principle of the Burney scheme, whoreunder a bi-weekly service of six large airships to India would be eventually established. The House would bo able to consider the scheme when details of the contract reached finality. The Dominions were being informed of the decision. He hoped to discuss the question at the Imperial Conference with a view to their co-operation in the scheme.
