The death occurred in Blenheim on Wednesday evening, of Mrs York, wife of Archdeacon York, and formerly Miss Lilian Petrie, oldest daughter of the late Mr .1. and Mrs Petrie of Greymonth. Mrs York lird been ill failing health for some years, and recently underwent a critical operation. Her death was not unexpected. She was born and educated in Greymouth. being prominent, in musical circles', there for many years. In addition to taking ii, leading part in tnc organisation of charitable functions she was for some time organist at Holy Trinity Church. Her marriage to Archdeacon York took place in 1809 and Mr and Mrs York resided in Greymouth until about four years ago, when the Archdeacon was transferred to the parish of Blenheim. The late Mrs York leaves in addition to her husband, her mother. Mrs .1. Petrie who resided with her. She also leaves two brothers, Messrs Jack Petrie (Auckland), and Andrew T’ctrio (Fielding!, and two sisters. Marian Petrie (America), and Miss Dora Petrie (Wellington).
