WORLD'S I.ARDENT RESTAURANT IX I.OXDOX. LONDON, May 21. The enlarged Corner House in Coven-trv-street, W., stated to he the world's biggest, restaurant, will lie opened to the iiulilie next Wednesday by Messrs J.yons and Co.. Ltd. The original Corner House has grown into a palatial establishment of 5 floors, each covering 2.51» sipiare feet, where l.oOi) Jieople can he served at the same time with anything from a clip of ten to a full-course dinner with wine. The ground floor, decorated in the Louis XIV style, will contain a chocolate salon with attendants in emerald green crepe-de-ehine dresses, and oldgold aprons, a soda fountain, an oyster liar, and a snack counter. On each floor there will he two bands. One will be Paul Speckt. s Orchestra from the United States, which commands a. fee of £350 a week, and another is Miss ALirgaret Holloway s orchestra of 30 women. Filtered air. cooled or heated as circumstances require, will he a feature ot the ventilation system, which has lieon designed to ensure a complete change of air 15 times an hour. A circulating system of freezing Urine is laid on to the kitchens so as to ensure the perfect refrigeration of foods which have to he cooled. The cafe de petit repas will make a special appeal to women shopping in the West- End. providing them with dainty savouries such as lobster patties, prawns in aspic and galantines at low prices.
