ROCKING HOUSES.

LONDON'. May 19. Air George Thomson, of 03, Burnt Ash-road, Lee, S.E., has posted a notice in large rod, block letters m his front garden and in the from gardens of neighbours stating: “Caution! Drive slowly. Dangerous road. Council considering what to do." Mr Thomson explained yesterday that 164 house-owners and tenants had demanded that the Lewisham Council should remake the road, as by the passage of heavy traffic alarming damage was being done to the houses. Every dav ceilings, pictures, and gas globes were falling down, and even gas jets had been turned on and off by the vibration. Mr Charles Dodd, Mayor of Lewisham, said that tests of the effect of traffic vibration on the houses had resulted in nothing serious.
