COUNTRY TELEPHONES. Replying to a question about the charges for country telephones, the Hon J. 0. Coates, says: It is expectpri that, a new rating system will be introduced shortly, under winch it will be possible for a greater number of subscribers than at present to be conno,ted with one telephone exchange line Bv this means telephone facilities will be available to country and backblocks settlers at cheaper rates.
