TITK WILL AND THE WAY. No 18.— People's Confidence in Pulilic Trustee. Sir Julius Vogel, founder of the Public Trust Office, said in tho House of Representatives fifty years ago: “Honourable Members must be aware that it is very diffictilti to obtain trustees for wives and children, or executors under wills, with sufficient time at their disposal to do justice to the {ask: and even when after some difficulty and a ore at sacrifice to friendship such trustees are obtained. no one can he sure that in tlie case of death or removal their place will ho well supplied.” To meet the vital need of the people Sir Julius Vogel secured the establishment of the Public Trust Office. The remarkable expansion of the business in five decades is a great monument to a far seeing statesman. On the 31st. March. 1922, the number of wills safely deposited with the Public Trustee approximated 32,000 and this total is increasing at tiie rate of over 400 a month. These figures in a country of 1,250,000 population, afford very emphatic evidence of the people’s confidence in their own State-guaranteed Office. For full information apply to the Pnblio Trustee, Wellington, or to MR T. Tt. SAY WELL, District Public Trustee, Greymouth. A representative of the Office is in attendance at Hokitika on Thursdays and Fridays in each week.
