British and Intercolonial Exhibition.
COUNCIL MEETING. WEDNESDAY, JULY 19th. Tile Council met at the County Chambers at 7.-15 o’clock. Present: A) . J. Butler (President), AY. .T. Jeffries, G. A. Pery, A. Aitken. D. J. Evans. Apologies were received for the absence of Hon 11. L. Michel. .Messrs Wild and Davidson. The minutes of ihe previous ordinary and two special meetings were confirmed. The outward correspondence was tipproved. IN AVAR!) CORRESPONDENCE. From T, A. AAoodrolle, Christchurch, notifying reduced space plans were available, and the building plans were in hand; as also designs for the exterior approach.—Received, the President to consult with Mr Woodroffe at (hrisleli'.ircli next week. From Secretary Department of Industries and Commerce in regard to various matters affecting general arrangements.— Received, It was resolved while the President was in AYcllington next week to consult with the authorities in regard lo registering under the Kxhilition Act. 1910, and also to confer with regard to the provisions of any necessary Oider-in-Cnum-il thereunder. It was further agreed on the return of the President to call u meeting of retailers in tesneet to local ,-.tipplies for the Exhibition in regard lo loan, hire or purehiise as necessary.

It was resolved then to confer to itinerary through the district, Mr Hu tier to consult further with the Publicity Officer in AYellington, also, on the mattc-r. From Wellington Industrial Association expressing an interest in the Exhibition project, and inviting the President on the occasion of his visit lo AA'elliugUiit to address the general ecmmillee.—Received and agreed to. From X.Z. military stores quoting prices for blankets, supplies ole.—Hoicived and noi. considered suitable for purposes of the Exhibit ion.
