A sum of £llOO (of which £OOO has been provided hv the Now South Y ales and Queensland Associations) has been guaranteed towards the £3OOO estimated to be required to finance the visit of the Chinese University Soccer team to Australia. Therefore, the New South Wales Association lias decided to proceed with the venture. Arrangements are being made for the team to arrite on the fourth of August. They will play live matches in New South Wales, and two in Queensland and will depart on September 11th. RETURN OF SOCCER REPS. WELLINGTON. July 17. The New Zealand Soccer team arrived by the .Manuka to-day, and were entertained to-night by the Now Zealand Fi.iothall Association, and accorded a most enthusiastic reception, leiilL; congratulated on winning the “Ashes”, which were brought over from Australia, which would still further cement the bonds between the two countries.
