Beef—A very largo yarding comprising over TOO head, ineluding a consignment from Southland as well as one consignment from the North Island, which however arrived 100 late for the sale. The market owing to the large yarding was slightly easier, but any good ( 1 11.11 it V sold well. There was an average drop on last week ol about los per head. Prime steers CIO -7s to 213 10s. extra to £l7 17s; medium £8 to £lO 10s: others down to £1 17s. Prime heifers £7 to £9; extra to CIO 7s (id: others Cl lAs to CO 12s fid. usual, including several lines of excellent quality. The market opened tip considerably linnet' than last week. and continued so throughout, but towards Lite end of tlm sale things eased somewhat, especially for medium sorts.
