ALLEGED BRIBERY. DUNEDIN, July 9. The hearing was concluded of the. charge against Rosinn Sarah MacFio, of having attempted to dissuade by a bribe the principal witness in the Havne ease from giving evidence. The brother of the girl stated that when M.ieEie left Ids si-tor 111 a *Ollll- - condition, aceu-ed told him that her name was Mi--. Brown, and she had a mes-age from his sister. She would not tell him the message. Detective Beer submitted a statement by accused to the ctfeil that she told the girl to pull liel'self together, and wiines- would look niter her when -he came out. MeEie denied - eying that 11 ayne xvoiild give the girl a lot of money if she did not speak, ot that Ingli- would get ten years if she did not -peak. All she asked the girl was to promise -he would not worry. AlacEie al-o denied giving the name of Brown. Defence was reserved, and accused was committed for trial, on bail.
