Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: El ore sheep.--A smaller entry, mo-t-Iv made up ni hoggets which sold well throughout lhe sale. Best sound mouth ewes made up to 3;is, aged and inferior 13s to 21-. best forward wethers from 23s lo 31s 7d. best wether hoggets 20s to others from !0s to Ills, best ewe Imggels to 275. Rigs. A small entry of porkers and liacotiers. The demand for pork was keen and prices showed an advance mi last week’s rate-. Store pigs.—A medium entry and the prices realised were on a par with last week’s rales. AYe, 'liters 10s to LAs. extra good to 17s: Oil; slips IMs to 2iis, medium 2~L to 3.35, large to Ins. Store cattle. —There was a fair yarding and the quality generally was hotter. Several very nice lines ol well grown steers met with a good sale and the demand generally was good all round. Three and lour year steers made 2(S LAs to 07 2s (id, 2) to 3 years ditto Cl os to C-A 12s (id, yearlings 2.As to 355, 2 years old heifers £_••) lo- to C 3 -As. yearling ditto 25s to 30s, good fresh cow- 30s to LAs, others down in 12s fid. Reef. A very heavy yarding. including some excellent hues of local station cattle as well as North Island and Southland consignments. The market, owing in the large entry, opened somewhat easier than lasi week and although it was in and out. showing an average decline of 15s to 20s per head. Prime steers made 211 10s to CM lit', extra to CIO LAs. medium 28 LAs t„ Cll. others down to Cll: prime heifers C 7 5s to CO 10s. extra to CIO 17s (sd. medium 25 to C 7 : prime cows Cti in CO 10s. extra to CIO 7s fid. others down to C2 15s. Afuunii.—There was a medium yarding. the quality being irregular, ewes again predominating. breezing buyers operated sparingly. West Coast buyers secured two nr three trucks and helped to keep the market firm. Tiesale opened firmer than las; week and continued so throughout, showing an average rise of is dd to 2s per head. Prime wethers made 31s to 30s fid. extra to -15 s: medium 31s fid to 33s fid: others down to 20-: prime ewes 27s to 31s fid, extra to 30s 3d. medium 23s to 2iis (id, others down to lfis. Lambs. —A very small entry and as only one factory is open, competition was confined mainly to butchers and graziers. Any good quality linos sold well, practically equal to last week’s rates, but medium and unfinished sorts would have sold better in the store pens.
