Ihe House met at 7.30 p.m. Tu the House of Representatives the debate on the Address-in-Replv was continued by Messrs Fraser, Jordan, Willord, I.ysnar, Isitt. .McCombs, Massey, Hunan, Corrigan. Ransom and Atmure. Air Fraser at the (.'(inclusion of his speech moved the following amendment to Mr Wilford’s amendment :. ■‘With a veiw to placing the Government House within reach of every family in the Dominion and of adequately protecting families of workers who are compelled to rent houses during the present housing shortage from extortionate demands, and ejection at the hands of the unscrupulous and profiteering landlords.’’ Tlio debate on this amendment lasted until after midnight, when the amendment was defeated by 37 to 32. The House rose at- 12.10 a.m. till ■I p.m. on Monday.
