IRISH AFFAIRS

AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. ART O’BRIEN, LONDON. June 27 Justice Swift and a jury have commenced at Old Bailey the trial of Art O’Brien and eight other Irish Republicans arrested on May 30 on a charge of seditious conspiracy. The Attorney-General is prosecuting. He said the accused were tho ringleaders in an attempt to assist the Irish Republicans. Their conspiracy was hi finding money, men and munitions. There was evidence to show that it the accused had not been arrested in March,, they would have established an organisation intending to commence in Fuglaiul tho same sort of outrages which had made Ireland such a dreadful country to live in during the preceding year. The hearing was adjourned.
