The House met at 7.311 p.m. The debate on the Addross-in-Reply was continued by Air McCombs, übo dead with questions of taxation, and wages, concluding by moving an addition to Air AVilford’s amendment:—“Provided there shall be no reduction of income tax until the salaries and wages of public servants and other workers affected by the Public Expenditure Adjustment Act, 1021. and Industrial Conciliation Arbitration Amendment Act. 1022. have been restored. to make "the equivalent to the pre-war itnndnrd, measured by the purchasing power.” After ;t lengthy and heated debate Lite amendment was defeated by 30 to 30.
