He expressed regret that the farmers of the district had not been able to .support the Winter Seheol a- they Would bar- liked to. having been too busy preparing for that day's show. He complimented the many exhibitors on the rpialitv and i|iiantity shown which emphasised the possibilities of the district which would advance rapidly in tlm near future. He spoke of the advancement the district was making and t said when the (Hint tunnel was completed. there would be a -till further advance made. The need oi manuring and liming was touched on and the speaker concluded by expressing hi* pleasure at the distinctive success of , the -how. ami declared the show open. : Mr W. Jeffries congratulated all concerned on the success of the display.
