Mr Philip Snowdon (l.abmjr M.P.) in his article in tile “Morning Pot'' say-: A Labour Government's legislation and administration would ho directed to the gradual suppression of the capitalistic system by the public ownership) and democratic control of the essential industries and services. A Labour Government would begin, tentatively and gradually, with those industries and services which have reached the most advanced stage of monopoly, and concent ration. These are the land, the mines, the railways, electric power .banking, and insurance. Mr Snowden does not !>elieve that a Labour Government would experience difficulty in attracting competent men to take over the management of the nationalised services. ITe says that the difficulty is most likely to begin at the bottom, rather than at the top. He ixjints out that that had been tile Australian .Labour Government’s experience of the running of their nationalised undertakings. At first there was a disposition on the part of the workmen to bring pressure on tlv Labour Governments to secure the granting of unreasonable concessions.
