The House met at 7.30 p.m. In the House of Representatives, the debate on the Addre-ss-in-Rep 1 y was continued by Messrs T’otter, Horn, Girling, Bnddo, Massey, Forties, and Glenn. A division was then taken on Mr Sullivan’s amendment to the Lib-eral-Labour amendment providing for proportional representation and the abolition of the Legislative Council. Chi a division this was lost li,v 58 to IS, the Labour Party and Mr Poland alone .supporting it. The adjournment of the debate was moved by Mr McCombs and the House rose at 12.30 a.in. till 2.30 p.m.
