AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z CABLE ASSOCIATION. PAY IN THE NAVY. LONDON. June 20. The Select Committee on tlto Naval Estimates recommends that the officers' and men's pav should be reviewed in 192-1. The Committee is of the opinion that the administrative staff needs reorganisation and reduction. The report points out that the seamen’s pay is still one hundred and fifty per cent, above pro war, and the men are still receiving post-war marriage allowances, costing millions annually, while there is only one sixth of the officers at present whose pay is liable to reduction. MURDER MYSTERY. GLASGOW POLICE FIND. LONDON, .lime 21 The Glasgow police have made the sensational discovery of the body ol a murdered boy. aged twelve, which was being wheeled in a perambulator through a busy street by a young woman. The body was wrapped in a bed mat. It is believed that a previous attempt had keen made to burn the body, the hair on the seal]) being singed. The woman, who was accompanied by her small daughter, was arrested. The police believe the buy was strangled at Coatbridge, twelve miles from Glasgow and that the body was being taken in the pram in order to he disposed of in Glasgow. The motive is a mystery.
