AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. ENGLISH PLAY. LONDON, June 21. For the first round of tho match play at Gleneagles, there was brilliant weather. Kirkwood heat Oke, four and three. Havers bent Butehart (the Scottish champion) one up. Barnes heat Holland, four and two. Braid beat AY. Bail, four and three. The other winners were:—Williamson, Seymour, Ockenden, F. Ball, Rit(hio, Delatorre (who is a Spaniard), Twine, Johns, Lockhart, Gray, McNeill. Kirkwood played magnificently, going out in twenty-three. Havers was fortunate to win in a ding-dong fight. He cut his drive at the sixteenth hole into some broom, but had a good lie where the boll might have been unplayable. Duncan failed to qualify.

LONDON, June 22. In the third round at gob, Seymour beat Kirkwood by 1 up.
