Joseph Thur.-ton aged 17. a fireman, was charged that he assaulted Ceorge Craighead, the fourth engineer on the steamer Arawa on the voyage from Panama hy striking Craighetul on the head with a large spanner. The evidence showed that Craighead gave the accused instructions to make a signal to the fireman in the !• rehold.
