AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. ECONOMIC CRASH FEARED LOXDOX, June 20. The “Daily Express’s” Berlin correspondent says:—“The latest slump in the German mark is not being accompanied by the usual wild scene of the previous slumps. The mass of the German people no longer have sufficient money to purchase bare necessities. The shops are nearly empty. Tho storekeepers are watching the mark's fall, and they are steadily raising their prices. Practically all the retailers have ceased calculating in marks. They are using dollars instead. “Germany’s masses are showing sign" of unrest. “There is a Reichstag Committee considering the cause of the slump. It is unable to discover a scapegoat. “Tho general opinion is that unless means are found of avoiding a catastrophe. the German currency will follow the Russian rouble, and an economic crash is bound to follow a riuanc-iui crash.” BKLGfAX INTENTION.
