LONDON, June 18 Mr Martin Donohue, writing in the "Dailv Chronicle,” says:—"The uncertainty of the Bulgarian situation is causing uneasiness to the Serbian Government, which has now decided on military defensive measures to protect the Serbian territories, especially its Macedonian possessions, against Bulgur aggression. It is believed that M. Stambouliski s Party has been crushed, and is now incapable of serious resistance. As harvesting is now in full swing Bulgaria is reluctant to abandon fields for revolution. The Government burned those villages which showed signs oi resistance, and no quarter has been given to M. St-am-bouliski’s famous Orange Guards. Scrvia has refused to recognise the usurping Government. As a retaliation for ibis attitude, Coinitudji bands are active in Macedonia. Serbia may reply hy concentrating her troops and reintoreing the guards on her frontiers and also her Macedonian garrisons. I have passed troop trains to-day with Croat ion soldiers, from Agram-Sisak, wh.o are hound for the -Macedonian frontier. The reserves at Vinkovei have hurriedly been summoned from the fields, and were to-day entraining for the concentration depots. There were weeping wives and mothers saying “adieu.” The men were laughing as if they were embarking on a fresh adventure. 'Twas jdl reminiscent of the scenes which I saw nine years ago.”
