Trycn. replying to Mr Chamberlain in the Hons© of Commons, said that the hospital at Highbury. Birmingham, was not owned by the Ministry of Pensions. The rescue work carried out during the lire was worthy of the highest praise. The cause ot the fire was still unknown. In expressing sympathy with the relatives of the men killed, lit. said that claims by deceaseds' dependents would be generously and sympathetically dealt with. The hospital building was the latest of its kind arid was erected at considerable cost. Inquiries arc being made into the whole of the circumstances, including the suitability ot the type of buddings.
