EXHIBITION DELEGATION

(By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian). SUCCESSFUL Ij MEETING AT NELSON. NELSON, June 10. The delegates reached Nelson at 5 o’clock last evening, and at 7.30 hnd an excellent meeting, Mayor Lock presiding. Particulars relating to the Exhibition were detailed by Alessrs Butler, Jeffries parfitt and Evans. In the course of supplementary re--marks, Mr Collins of the Industries Department, stated the British Trade Commissioner at Wellington was organising an exhibit from 12 importers of British goods to he displayed at tho •Exhibition at Hokitika.

The Mayor stated the delegates had afforded a fund of information, and ho was quite satisfied the Exhibition would he a live concern.

A representative of ATessrs Kirkpatrick remarked that, commercially, tho (Vest Coast had been the best friend Nelson had.

A representative of Levion and Cox - , spoke similarly and promised support. Also Alessrs Griffin and Coy. sent a message stating they would he represented.

ft was resolved that Nelson Chamber of Commerce, with power to add to their number, deal with the matter of organising the Nelson district exhibit. It was intimated also that Cawthorn Institute would prepare a special instructional exhibit regarding research work, affecting soils and fertilisers. The Mayor was appointed a Vice-Pre-sident of the Exhibition Council. The meeting was a very cordial ono and appreciative remarks were made by Messrs Seantlebury and Watson, ex-

Subsequently the executive cf the Chamber of Commerce pencilled 150 leer frontage for the Nelson exhibit, while a considerable frontage of space was pencilled, also for the Government exhibits, hv various Departments It is evident there will be a good deal of provincial competition in relation to the displays. The delegates left at 8 o’clock this morning fw Westport wnore a meeting will ho held to-night, and they return home tomorrow. AIV Collins and the party will confer with the Exhibition Council at Hokitika at 2 o’clock on Monday afternow'll.
