AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. U.S.A. CRUISER. WASHINGTON, June 13. It is announced that the new scout eri'liser “Milwaukee,” -shortly to be completed, will visit Hawaii, Samoa New Zealand and Australia, on its trial. This cruiser is part of a plan under which six new cruisers and dreadnoughts will tour the woild during testing voyages. THE PROHIBITION LAW. FINDING A SOLUTION. (Received this day at 11.45 a.in.) WASHINGTON. June 13. It is learned on the highest authority that United States has proposed a treaty with foreign powers designed to prevent liquor smuggling and settle other governments objections to the prohibition shipping regulations. The treaty proposed would extend the three mile limit to twelve miles, so that American revenue patrons could exorcise greaor search and seizure powers. In return, foreign vessels would he permitted to bring liquor into American waters under seal, though the crews mil not ho allowed rations while the vessel is in port. Mr Hughes has communicated the plan to the various Embassies.
