VESUVIUS erupting. (Received this day at 12.25 p.m.) LONDON. June 10. A telegram from Naples says A esuvius is showing increased activity. The crater cone collapsed leaving a thiit\ foot gap through which a- torrent of lava is pouring, threatening to turn the western and south-western slopes into a river of fire. Numerous small craters have opened on the slopes. Villagers at the foot of the slopes are removing their belongings. LONDON, June 10. The governing body declared new clube with holes punched in the faces to give a stop action to balls used by Americans in practice play tor Troon open championship, are illegal. Ihe executive’s official statement declared clubs which have corrugated or grooved slotted patterns constitute a substantial departure from the traditionnlly aceepted form, therefore will make them not permissible for competitions under the rule 9 of the club.
