The Labour Conference carried a Brisbane resolution favouring socialisation of industry, distribution and control. An exciting debate followed a statement by a delegate that a thousand spurious ballot papers wer* issued for the selection ballot for the Sydney seat in January 1020, ballot boxes, with sliding panels being allegedly used. AY ills, the Chairman, stated a committee was enquiring into the matter but bad not finished the investigation. It had secured sufficient evidence to go into any court. It had been established that a number of ballot boxes, with sliding panels, had been made and delivered. They were used in the selection ballot but wine tber manipulated or not he could not say.
