The “Morning Herald” dealing with the decrease in trade between Australia and the Pacific Islands, publishes figuies showing that in 1920 the imports of Australian goods to Samoa totalled £187,090; to Tonga £150,000; to Fiji £5.10,000. In 1922 these totals fell respectively to £10.1.000, £40,000 and £422,000. Trade with the other islands similarly decreased. The “Herald” strongly urges the need ot efforts to stop this trade drift. ENVOY’S CASE ADJOURNED. SYDNEY, June 8. The Irish envoys case was adjourned until Friday to give defendants an opportunity of perusing the Crown’s evidence. FRUITLESS SEARCH. SYDNEY. June 8. Three vessels which are searching for the Trevessa’s crew report they are still patrolling. It is feared tile rough seas have either swept- the lifeboats beyond the scope of the present search, or else they have shared the same fate as the upturned boat discovered by the Tregenna.
