The “Morning Herald” dealing with the decrease in trade between Australia and the Pacific Islands, publishes figuies showing that in 1920 the imports of Australian goods to Samoa totalled £187,090; to Tonga £150,000; to Fiji £5.10,000. In 1922 these totals fell respectively to £10.1.000, £40,000 and £422,000. Trade with the other islands similarly decreased. The “Herald” strongly urges the need ot efforts to stop this trade drift.
