At Manchester representatives of the employers of half a million operatives have signed the most lar-rcaching agreement ever made in the cotton industry. The employers agree not to seek to reduce wages for nine months. Tile operatives agree not to seek any increase before tlio end of September, 1924, while reserving the right to oppose any reduction.
